Frequently asked questions.
The practical details of getting a website made and keeping it up to date.
How much will my website cost?+
The packages show approximate starting prices. Your final quote depends on the pages, content and features you need. We agree the scope and cost before work begins, and any extra work is agreed separately.
Which website option is right for me?+
A one-page website suits a clear, simple offer that can be explained in one place. A multi-page website gives your work, services and story their own space. Either can suit an artist or a business—it depends on what you need to show. If you’re unsure, tell me what you do and I’ll help you choose.
What is included with every website?+
Every website includes a tailored WordPress design for phones and computers, a contact form, an editing setup, basic search setup and help getting online. I organise and lightly polish the content you supply, then provide a walkthrough, an illustrated guide and 30 days of help using the website after launch.
Can I update the website myself?+
Yes. You’ll be able to change your text, images and the other content we agree on through WordPress. Where needed, I can set up a way to add work or services using the layouts I provide. New page layouts or additional features can be discussed as separate work.
Do I need to arrange hosting and a domain?+
You own and pay for your hosting and domain—the service that keeps your website online and its web address. I can help you choose them and handle setup, or work with a suitable existing provider. These ongoing fees are separate from the website build price.
How long will my website take?+
The build times shown with the packages are estimates in working days from our agreed project start, with the required content supplied. Your quote confirms the schedule for your website. Extra features, delayed content or delayed feedback can change the timing.
What do you need from me?+
A rough idea is enough for our first conversation. Before the build starts, I’ll need the agreed information, text, images and any existing branding you want to use. I can organise and lightly polish your wording. Substantial copywriting, photography or sourcing images is agreed separately.
How does the design process work?+
We discuss what your website needs to do and agree a written quote. I design it around your content and visitors, with two rounds of design feedback before the build. You then get a final review before launch, followed by a walkthrough and an illustrated guide.
What happens after the website goes live?+
You receive 30 days of help using your website after launch. Ongoing technical maintenance, backups and hosting or domain renewals are separate; you’ll need to manage these yourself or arrange them with a provider. New features or additional work can be quoted separately.
Will my website appear on Google?+
I set up page titles and descriptions, check that search engines can access the site, connect your own Google Search Console account and submit a sitemap—a list of your pages. This helps Google discover your website. Google decides whether and when pages appear; inclusion and a particular search position cannot be guaranteed.
Can you add an online shop, bookings or other features?+
Tell me what you have in mind. I’ll confirm whether I can provide it and quote for the extra work. Online shops, payments and additional functionality aren’t included automatically in either package. We’ll agree the features and any ongoing service costs before proceeding.
Will my website work on phones and computers?+
Yes. I design for smaller screens from the start, then adapt the layout for larger screens. Text, navigation, forms and buttons are designed to be clear and usable across both.
